Spencer, a National Guard reservist, first began training at Evolution Grappling Academy in 2014. Spencer came from a striking background in the art of eight limbs, Muay Thai which he began in 2011. Eager to enhance his knowledge in the Martial arts world, the young Martial Artist took the the art of grappling like a sponge.

Combining his skill sets and honing his tools for the past three years, Spencer made his MMA debut of Saturday evening in Rutland, VT at XCP: Civil War. Spencer found himself in the Light Heavyweight, Co-Main Event across the cage from the undefeated Ethan Corey.

Spencer came out strong showing the effectiveness of his striking skill, landing clean strikes on the feet. Showing his versatility, Spencer went on to demonstrate his efficiency in scoring a takedown along the fence and advancing to a dominant position. Within the opening minutes of the first round, Spencer was victorious, tapping out his opponent with the Rear Naked choke. A very impressive debut for the Beacon fighter.

In the locker room after their victories.

Also on the card was Thaishodo Fight Pit/EGA product Isaiah Sackey-El also known as “Boomer”. Boomer, a strong Mixed Martial Artist with a very well-rounded game fought at Middleweight. Boomer’s striking skill is by far his sharpest weapon. Sackey-El looked great in his fight winning by TKO in the first round. Sackey-El’s record increased to 2-1 with the victory.

Stay tuned for more news in the future as these two great Martial Artists will certainly be back in the cage soon.
